WP Version 2.8, Matt has recently announced that WordPress 2.8, named Baker is now available after a series of tests. WP 2.8 version represents a nice fit and finish release for WordPress with a lot of improvements to themes, widgets, taxonomies, and its overall speed. It was mentioned that over 790 bugs have been fixed. Nice to know that. The release was named in honor of the noted trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker.
Additional of over 180 features, changes, improvements and upgrades are packaged with this version. Exciting to hear right?
Not only that, edits or tweaks of themes or plugins makes a lot more easier from your dashboard because of its new CodePress editor which gives syntax highlighting to the previously-plain editor. Also, a contextual documentation for the functions in the file you’re editing linked right below the editor is already avalaible. I can't wait to test the new version.
